Hello, for months i've had a white coated tongue returning every day despite proper oral hygiene. i've tried antibiotics, lozenges, and gerd medication. i see my pc physician again next month, but i would like some insight on possible causes. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

White tongue: May be Thrush, a fungal infection. Antibiotics will kill bacteria, permitting overgrowth of fungus. Treatable with specific anti-fungal meds. See your General Dentist for proper diagnosis and treatment.
