Both: Boot and rest: A stress fracture is sometimes indicative of a repetitive, pounding injury such as can occur with running or jumping. You will need to stop all activities that cause stress on the foot. You will need to wear a boot if you will be walking, and you will need to rest the area for a minimum of 3 weeks so that the fracture can heal. NSAIDS can help with the inflammation and pain.
