Normal: The hematocrit (hct) is a measurement of how much of someone’s blood is made up of red blood cells. It will change depending on the volume of fluids and other things in your blood. The average healthy adult should have a normal hematocrit level that ranges between 25% to 50%. This is normal fluctuation and is not of any medical concern.

Question the method: How was HCT measured? Why was it measured? The range from 25% to 40% in one day would suggest a wide range in your state of hydration and it not a likely explanation, without taking into account a large error in measurement. Have a healthy diet, exercise 30 minutes/day, drink plenty of water, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. For nutrition: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/.
