Early: As soon as able to. Depending upon how sick the individual was, a supervised, gradual program may be recommended as deconditioning aside from intrinsic damage to the lungs and/or heart, if any, is to be expected.

COVID concerns: A lot of that will be determined by whether someone had asymptomatic, mild, moderate or severe infection. With moderate to severe infection - sequela can linger for weeks and sometimes months. One could become quite deconditioned. In that situation would start slowly and possibly once medically cleared.
