A member asked:

I was wondering why do i get excessive saliva even though im feeling great? i have been drinking a lot of liquid such as tea and water. p.s im currently taking amoxicillin for a week which ends in 2 days. it was for a mild right ear inflammation.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inflammation around : Saliva is secreted by salivary glands which are present all around the oral cavity. The trigger is any irritant to the nerve endings in the region, such as by inflammation/infection of the mouth, tongue, throat, tonsils, sinuses etc. Ear infection may also do that. Increase fluid intake to compensate for lost saliva/water
