Shin pain: Tylenol (acetaminophen) or a non-steroidal anti inflammatory medication can help. In the meantime, stretch well before jogging. You might need to start out a little slower/ lower mileage as you body likely became somewhat deconditioned during the COVID 19 lock down.

Shin splints: To relieve the discomfort caused by this resumption of jogging after a layoff, in addition to Dr. Fowler's recommendations, ice the sore shins for 20-30 minutes 4 times a day for 2-3 days or until the discomfort has resolved. It's important to wear the proper footwear while jogging or running.
