For about 10 months i occastionally get a sharp pain in my lower right abdomen when laughing. i have had a ultrasound to rule out appendicitis and ovarian cist. what could it possibly be?

Possibly hernia : It’s hard to say with any certainty. But if the pain is intermittent and occurs with increase pressure (such as laughing), a hernia might be considered. There is a type called spigelian hernia that tends to be between area of crossing abdominal muscles. It is possible a piece of small bowel gets caught temporarily between a slip of muscle.
