Yes: Mental disorders were traditionally divided into psychoses and neuroses. People with psychosis cannot distinguish what is real with what is not real. They may hear voices or see visions when no one is there. There can be many causes that range from infections to schizophrenia. There are good treatments available and professional help should be sought.
