A member asked:

I was looking at the area where my wisdom tooth was extracted 6 days ago. i noticed a small area where the stitching must have come undone, leaving a small hole. the area hasnt hurt in the past few days, is this normal? will it heal on its own?

Dentist referral: It’s possible you could be susceptible to an infection from the small hole you have described & it may not heal well without being stitched again. I therefore suggest you immediately contact your dentist to discuss this. I wish you well with your health!

Probably OK: If no pain, fever, swelling, bad taste, malaise, you should be OK. But just to make sure, call the General Dentist or Oral Surgeon that did the extractions. That's the person that knows your situation best. And post-surgical care is part of your entire package.
