GERD: Your symptoms may be a variant of gastroesophageal reflux with water brash or acid brash and this not only irritates the throat but may cause serious damage to the esophagus. I strongly recommend consulting a gastroenterologist for evaluation and treatment. In the meantime avoid nicotine, caffeine, smoking, oily and spicy foods, aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications like Advil & Aleve.
