A member asked:

My husband is an alcohic, he has some blood he spits from his mouth but is not vomiting up blood? he is 40 years old

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor: Alcoholism can effect the liver and the organs connected with it. Blood can get too thin. The veins in his swallowing tube can get big, like varicose veins in the legs, and he could bleed from those. See a doctor for an evaluation if he would. It's easier said than done that he needs to stop drinking. He needs to work on it every day. Aa is a good start. Therapy with aa is better. All the best!
