I had a 48 hour holter to make sure my pvcs were just benign pvcs, and also an exercise stress ecg. do the doctors naturally check the maximum qtc as well to look for long qt?

Yes : The QTC Intervals are measured by the requesting physician and often the Holter will also report any interval abnormalities
