Yes, Sanitize after: Chickenpox is an infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus. It is highly contagious to people who haven't had the disease or been vaccinated against it. Your child can spread the virus to other people for up to 48 hours before the rash appears, and the virus remains contagious until all broken blisters have crusted over. Anything that comes in contact with him contains virus that can spread.

The blisters are contagious until they dry and have no liquid in the center. Confirm the diagnosis with your pediatrician. Keep the skin clean, but avoid touching the blisters. Pat the skin dry with a disposable cloth. Wash hands after the bath and use a hand sanitizer. Keep your son well hydrated, avoid uses of aspirin and products that contain aspirin. Watch for shortness of breath,cough.
