A member asked:

Hi! when my doctor checks my blood pressure manually in the office and i check it on my own automatically on the machine in the drug store, the reading in the drug store is often much higher! is that typical? what might account for the differences?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood pressure : It is typical, all blood pressure measuring machines must go under certain maintenance procedures from time to time, a doctor can notice when it's time to do it, and these automatic machines that we can find at any drugstore normally do not get this maintenance. Also, manual devices tend to be more accurate.
