A member asked:

Very good evening doctors. i notice when my doctor checks my blood pressure manually in the office, it is often very much lower than when i check it on those automatic machines in the pharmacies. is this normal? what can account for the differences?

Calibration: You must decide whether you believe an automated kiosk at a pharmacy is more accurate that the equipment used by your physician. You did not describe either. I tend to look at automated kiosks as screening devices meant to identify those who need to see their doc. I have no way of knowing when or if the pharmacy ever has them calibrated for accurate results.
