Displaced meniscus: Menisci, bands of thick cartilage attached to the shin bone, act as shock absorbers during knee movement . Medial meniscus extrusion is displacement of the medial meniscus, which is on the inner side of the knee joint. Caused commonly by a tear,knee misalignment or cartilage defects , it can lead to cartilage loss, osteoarthritis.It is treated by repair or by partial or total removal.
