A member asked:

Take 5 mg ramipril in mornings and 12.5 mg of toperlol at lunch daily for hbp. accidently took 2nd dose of ramipril instead of toperlol, what to do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You will be OK: The metoprolol lowers blood pressure and slows down heart rate. If you were on a larger dose you might be at risk of rebound hypertension. This occurs when the body keeps trying to activate the beta receptors to raise the blood pressure and in fact increases the signal because the desired affect has not occurred. At your low dose you should be ok. The extra ramipril should not harm you.
