A member asked:

My iga is 41mg/dl (normal range is above 70) dr said while it's on the low side, it's not a true deficiency. all other immunoglobulins are normal range. what causes this? is it common? is it a true deficiency?

No: Being lower than normal is not necessarily abnormal. If you do not have recurrent infections, it is not a cause for concern. Have a healthy diet, exercise 30 minutes/day, drink plenty of water, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. For nutrition: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/. Get HPV vaccine. Wish you good health!
