Enlarged tonsils: Since these tonsils are not inflamed, they are most likely enlarged from old viral infections or simple hypertrophy. . The adenoids in back of the nose are also most likely enlarged and affect nose breathing. Sometimes corticosteroid nasal spray can shrink them. An Otolaryngologist can evaluate and advise you about treatment options which could include surgery.
