No..but: Blowing the air due to the mask, should not make it grow, but seems to just be causing you irritation. However, the pyerygium can still grow on it's own over period of several months to years regardless of the air irritation. Some inciting factors that may cause it is UV light, HPV infection Also some genetic component It would not hurt to keep any "eye" on the growth for your record

Yes: Chronic irritation of an eye can make a pterygium increase in size more rapidly. However most pterygia do not need to be removed
