Normal: For deep cuts, suturing brings the edges together and allows the cut to heal in a short amount of time. A cut that is not sutured has to heal from the inside out and fill the space with granulomatous tissue (pink/red shiny tissue) to close the defect. Keep the area clean and covered so that the healing can continue unimpeded. Do not scrape or irritate the new tissue or you will develop a scar.
