The tip of my nose (on they left) is very sore to the touch at certain angles, and feels almost like the cartilage is crackling, esp when wearing a mask. when i take off my mask, it is red for sometime after. is this something to be xrayed?

Maybe not: An x-ray has limitations. When used it is most helpful when assessing tissues that have a lot of contrast between the structures. (bone/air/tissue)The area cited does not so a simple x-ray would be unlikely to yield much info. The first study would be an exam done after a review of your symptom history.
