Postpartum periods: It is typical to have a change in your periods after childbirth. This is due to the hormonal changes you have experienced. Typically this condition resolves as time passes after breastfeeding. Sometimes, hormones are left unbalanced and will require supplementation to resume normal periods and prevent breakthrough bleeding. Consult a gynecologist who can test and treat the imbalance.

Breastfeeding: Being post partrum and breast feeding can contribute to irregular periods. However, if you are really symptomatic (or have periods longer than 7 days) if would behoove you to bet it checked out by your doctor. Take care.
