Heavy menses ?'s: Heavy menses in teen years may be due to higher hormone levels, which make the lining of the uterus thicker. A sudden "stop" in the flow might be due to a blood clot blocking the passage of blood temporarily. Ask your gyn physician about low dose oral contraceptives, which will greatly diminish the blood flow with your periods.
