A member asked:

My 7 week infant received his first vaccine shot in his left arm, is this a cause for concern? it has now suddenly swelled up and has some form of abscess surrounded by redness. should i see a doctor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: If the baby is otherwise eating and doing okay. Swelling of the site of vaccination is common. You do not need to worry just continue good hygiene and use warm compress for the area and try not to mess with it because it is also painful. If the baby is having other symptoms like not eating or high fever or anything else concerning then let a doctor recheck the baby.
