Need a workup: Hypertension in young adults is typically due to an underlying cause which can easily be tested for and usually treated. Some of the causes include Thyroid dysfunction, Decreased kidney perfusion (fibromuscular dysplasia) and kidney parenchymal disease. Talk to your Dr about pursuing testing and diagnosis of any underlying conditions so that you can start treatment.
