Can an anterior tmj disc displaced for 16 years with 2 arthroscopies can break the posterior ligaments due to the overuse.? mouth opening limited, continous pain and recomandation received was to live with it. need advice pls.

Specialist question : This question really needs to be addressed to the specialist (oral or ENT surgeon) but I think the long years of stress to the ligaments could possibly do something like this yes. Prolly best to get a second opinion in case another problem present though

TMJ: Any malfunctioning joint will deteriorate over time. You need to see a specialist Oral Surgeon or specialist in Orofacial Pain Management for advice and care.
