Disc Surgery: Disc surgery to suture it back in place is effective only if the occlusion is addressed and the muscular system that positions the jaw are addressed at the same time. Treating the cause is important as well as the result of disc displacement. The technique is to do arthroscopic suturing of the disc to the posterior aspect of the capsule of the tmj. Joint space is required to prevent future issues.
