A member asked:

What does it mean when an iud overlies the pelvis. i was reviewing my old medical and noticed this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

X-ray report ?: You would expect an IUD to be located in the position/location of the pelvis on an x-ray since that is where the uterus is located. X-rays are in 2 dimensions and do not distinguish organ systems. An MRI of the pelvis would be able to specify whether the IUD was in the uterus. My read of the wording says it is in normal position. Confirm this with your doc if still confused.
