Mononucleosis: Most people who get mono feel better in about 2 to 4 weeks. Sometimes, fatigue can last several weeks after that. In some cases, it can take 6 months or longer for the symptoms to go away. Let your Dr know that you are still having symptoms. They can make sure there is no secondary infection at play.

Prolonged symptoms: I agree with Dr. Fowler. In my experience cases of mono that are that severe with prolonged symptoms have associated liver involvement. If you haven't already had liver function tests done, I recommend that you have them done to get some parameter to follow in case there is associated mono hepatitis.
