See a NEUROLOGIST: There are many causes for headache, and migraine is only one cause. In many cases there is no abnormality noted on MRI or other imaging studies. Furthermore a headache can be from intracranial (inside the skull) or extracranial (outside the skull) cause and both must be considered. Degenerative disease of the cervical spine or a whiplash injury are both common causes of cervicogenic headache.
