A member asked:

When my 8 month old infant exerts himself tiring movements then he has a wheezing sound to his breathing, it does not slow him down though.. he keeps going for long periods and the breath normalises almost as soon as he relaxes, is it normal?

Many conditions: Many conditions may cause this sound and infants may develop asthma at this age. Other causes include narrowing of the airway(s) or malformations which impinge on the airway. Choking and a foreign body lodged in the airway is another consideration. Please consider a virtual appointment, inbox consult with Healthtap and follow up with your PCP.
