Some basics: HSV 1 and HSV 2 are sometimes considered interchangeable due to variations in sexual practices. HSV 1 is most often linked to cold sores & your antibodies would remain positive through life after a single childhood episode.That you don't remember & don't have outbreaks is a lucky break. I would not obsess over this issue.
