Would i need to visit my gp to get a prescription for a mirena?

Possibly: Or it would be something you would go to an obgyn for , your Gp can certainly advise you.

Odd question: The Minera IUD must be placed by someone trained in the technique. In the USA this is not something you pick up at the pharmacy for self use. You go to a trained doc, either GP or OBGYN who provides/inserts it. Your local practice in South Africa may differ.
