As my gp can see and feel the mirena (levonorgestrel) threads does it mean it's in place? as they wont give me a scan.

Most likely: Generally, if the string is in the right place, so is the IUD, but misplacement is never impossible. If you develop severe pain or bleeding, call your doctor. An ultrasound is the easiest way to be 100% sure. Hope this helps!

Yes.: If your doctor can see and feel the mirena (levonorgestrel) threads then the merina is in your uterine cavity. As long as the mirena (levonorgestrel) is in the cavity it is functional and there is usually no need for a sonogram. If complications develops such as constant pain and cramping then a sonogram may ne necessary to make sure the mirena (levonorgestrel) is not in the endocervical canal. Your doctor may be able to tell due to longer threads
