A member asked:

I have cellulitus that's responding to cefalexin. i have two semi hard lumps from cellulitus, one with developed bruising and another leaking fluid. will the cefalexin clear them both up?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Cellulitus is usually causes by two types of bacteria - strep or staph- in many areas of the country a more dangerous form of staph MRSA is common and is not treated with cephalexin - the area leaking fluid might be an abscess, - you may need additional antibiotic if it is MRSA- I suggest that you see your doctor soon
