A member asked:

I have a history of fainting, but could never pinpoint what the cause is. blood test +- 2years ago showed nothing abnormal. im 6weeks pregnant now and fainted after accidentally cutting my thumb. never had a problem with blood. what can cause this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Syncope: Syncope happens whe for some reason (there are several) there is a momentary "shutdown" of the body or brain causing the fainting. One of the reasons are heart problems, including arrhytmias, in which the heart doesn´t beat in a rhytmic way and this produces the brain to "shutdown" the body when it feels a lack of blood supply. I strongly recommend you to visit a Cardiologist a soon as possible.
