Changes milk taste: Ascorbic acid (Med-Lemon) is excreted into human breast milk. The effects in the nursing infant are unknown. The manufacturer recommends that caution be used when administering Ascorbic acid (Med-Lemon Hot Medication-Lemon Menthol) to nursing women. I would use a more natural remedy: hot water with lemon juice and ginger.
