Depends: If it is acute then tonsillitis, larynx ulcer, nasopharyngeal infection, throat infection, acute thyroid inflammation. If not acute then chronic tonsillitis, arthritis of vocal cord, glossopharyngeal neuralgia, throat or larynx cancer, vocal cord ulcer. Im sure there are others. Just about any process in the throat can cause simultaneous throat and ear pain.
