Referred ear pain: Most likely your ear pain is "referred pain" from the throat pain. With your immunocompromised state, it would be wise to see your doctor.

You should be fine: The medications used today for solid organ transplantation is both potent and elegant. Having said this..it doesn't totally decimate your immune response..it just blunts it. Its critical you get the every 5 yer PneumoVax to immunize you for encapsulated organisms in particular. Another Prevnar (pneumococcal vaccine) 13 is particularly suited for immunocompromised patients. Your ear and throat should get better soon!
