I am suffering from an ongoing cough and shortness of breath, could this be from my asthma or more serious?

Possibilities: This symptom overlaps many conditions.Poorly controlled asthma is one, heart failure another, covid-19 related lung disease another. Without a full review of past history, exam & testing it is hard to sort this out.
