Look for wound: Bare feet are prone to injuries. If your daughter stepped on something, inspect the area to look for a wound. Is there anything in the wound? (stinger, glass, small debris) Remove anything you find carefully and wash the area with warm water and soap, then antiseptic solution (Betadine, Hibiclens). Dry, then apply an antibiotic ointment and bandage. See a Dr for redness spreading outward.
