My daughter woke up this a.m. with a painless raised red, itchy, swollen spot on the back of her l. hand. i'm worried this may be a spider bite, help.

Mystery bites: Based on your description, this could be a spider bite (but very unlikely to be a dangerous one), or a bite from insect, flea, etc. Sometimes bumps like this represent skin infections which may NOT come from bites. If it looks bad to you now, have a doc look at it today. If looks okay now but increases in size, develops red streaks toward the wrist, or she gets new symptoms, see a doc right away
