I had a test done for covid 19. the lancet app shows that the outcome of the test is inconclusive/unspecified. i need to go for operation tomorrow and just want to ask what does this mean?

Neither pos. or neg.: An inconclusive test result means the test is neither positive nor negative, which means a retest is needed IF a person is required to have either a positive or a negative result. Test results MUST be interpreted while considering an individuals medical and exposure history, the reason for testing, the accuracy of the test, and the amount of COVID-19 in the local community.

Agree with Dr. Kwok: The results are showing that infection could not be ruled in nor ruled out. Please discuss this with your physician as you will likely need to be re-tested.
