Many factors: PDA closure happens about 70% of the time depending on gestational age, size and velocity of flow in the defect, and time to closure is usually a short course, with peak somewhere in the middle or towards the end of the course. Each response is unique to the patient, so it is not easy to pinpoint a time to closure easily
