GI virus: These symptoms are characteristic of a viral gastrointestinal tract infection, but continued fever and prolonged symptoms of 10 days are unusual for simple intestinal flu like infections. I'm concerned about infections caused by pathogenic bacteria, parasites or other viral infections like hepatitis. It's time to see your physician, specialist in internal medicine or gastroenterologist.

Gastroenteritis: How long after symptoms began were you tested for COVID 19? You may have gastroenteritis from another virus, a bacteriia or a parasite.

Although these symptoms may be from a simple viral infection or COVID-19, they could also be from a bacteria, possible food-related infection, or another underlying more chronic gastrointestinal disease. Please see your doctor for a complete workup, possibly including testing your stool and/or blood tests.
