Hi have a mild shortness of breath and a burning sensation in my chest. i have a lot of phlegm with my wet cough that gets worst at night. i am not doing exercise currently since my body is acing and muscle pains. i don't have any fewer.

Check temp: Your underlying lung inflammation due to smoking increases the chance of an infection and antibiotics may be indicated. Screening the sputum for viral, bacterial and fungal disease is indicated. A yearly TB test should be performed. Fever is one feature of COVID 19 and influenza. Please speak to your PCP about testing and antibiotic treatment for a possible bacterial bronchitic infection.
