Hi have a mild shortness of breath and a burning sensation in my chest. i have a lot of phlegm with my wet cough that gets worst at night. i am not doing exercise currently since my body is acing and muscle pains. i don't have any fewer.

Your underlying lung inflammation due to smoking increases the chance of an infection and antibiotics may be indicated. Screening the sputum for viral, bacterial and fungal disease is indicated. A yearly TB test should be performed. Fever is one feature of COVID 19 and influenza. Please speak to your PCP about testing and antibiotic treatment for a possible bacterial bronchitic infection.
