Herniated & radiculopathy c5-c6.dr said start with therapy and go to a pain center for shots.i dont want to waste time and money on pt and shots are temp. can i request surgery and skip these steps or skip pt at least and do excercises at home?

Be conservative.: It is "conservative" to leave surgery as the last option and TRY the other methods of treatment, beginning with therapy (home ok). Injections also help CONFIRM the source of the symptoms AND help predict the surgical outcome. Surgery is the last option. Give at least a few weeks for therapy and /or injections. Others can use these treatments to delay surgery, even if it is more definitive.
