How to stop excess salivation due to permanent retainers? (attached to teeth) this has bothered me for over a year now.

Salivation: I doubt that your problem is caused by the thin wires that are bonded to your teeth. Talk to your General Dentist. There are treatments (meds) for people who salivate excessively. Also talk to your specialist Orthodontist about a different retainer regimen.
