Fungus vs dermatitis: Unless there has been trauma to the area, a red patch typically signifies a dermatitis (skin reaction to something irritating or allergic) Try to figure out if there is something new that has contacted that area, and remove. Use antihistamine (claritin, zyrtec) to alleviate the irritation. if it persists, it may be a fungal infection or something else for which you will need to be checked by a dr.
